Major
League Lacrosse (MLL), the premier professional outdoor lacrosse
league, today announced that the Boston Cannons have traded midfielder Jordan Levine to the Toronto Nationals, according to MLL Commissioner David Gross.
The Cannons will also send the 13th Overall Pick in the 2009 Collegiate
Draft to the Nationals. In exchange, Boston receives the 9th overall
pick from Toronto.
Jordan Levine was selected with the 10th pick in the 2008 Draft by New
Jersey and played in 11 games for the Pride. He accumulated 14 total
points (5 goals, 9 assists) and 24 ground balls, including two games
with a career-high 3 points.
Levine came to MLL after an outstanding collegiate career at the
University of Albany, where he helped lead the Great Danes to the NCAA
Quarterfinals in 2007 and was named an All-American in both 2007 and
2008. In four years at Albany, Levine finished with 113 career points.
The
2009 Major League Lacrosse Season begins on Friday, May 15th with the
Washington Bayhawks hosting the Toronto Nationals at Navy-Marine Corps
Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, MD. The rest of the action gets
underway on Saturday, May 16th with the Boston Cannons hosting the Long
Island Lizards at Harvard Stadium and the Denver Outlaws hosting the
Chicago Machine at INVESCO Field.
